Orlin Danery Ruiz is accused of three crimes: domestic abuse, rape, and parricide. He claimed that the devil ordered him to kill his son in exchange for power.
TEGUCIGALPA. Police Investigations Directorate (DPI) spokesperson Cristian Nolasco revealed today that Orlin Danery Ruiz, the man accused of beating and burying his four-year-old son in the community of Santa Bárbara in the municipality of Iriona, Colón, had also allegedly sexually abused him.

The official told a media outlet in the capital after being asked why the man was also being prosecuted for rape.
“He is accused of three crimes: domestic abuse, rape, and parricide. The rape charge is because the forensic report has preliminarily established that there was some kind of assault against the minor,” Nolasco said, after detailing that the man acted under the influence of the drugs he was using and that everything will be corroborated through the results of the autopsy and the forensic medical report
It is significant that, following the incident, the minor’s body was sent to the San Pedro Sula morgue, where it underwent tests to determine the true cause of death and, likewise, to collect samples that could incriminate the accused.
The child’s mother, Yadira Isabel Castro Almendárez, is also being prosecuted in this same case, as she is alleged to have helped her partner bury the child’s body. She is accused of accessory after the fact.
The investigation establishes that the father went to collect firewood in a wooded area, where he beat the child to death. He then took the child’s body to the house, where he and his wife buried the child in a common grave in a pasture near the house. They attempted to escape, according to local residents, who, along with an aunt of the heartless father, managed to apprehend them and force them to confess what they had done, as well as to reveal where they had buried the child.
Meanwhile, the individual’s initial statements were that the devil told him to kill his son and in return he would give him great power. For now, both face justice in the courts of the municipality of Trujillo.
It should be noted that it was the outraged residents of the community of Santa Bárbara who handed the boy’s parents over to the police authorities after getting them to confess to the crime and reveal where they had buried him.
Additionally, the defendant was sent to the Tocoa Penitentiary in Colón after being remanded in custody. The initial hearing will be next Monday, February 20, at 9:30 a.m.
